This was our visit to the Tigard Balloon Festival on Saturday. Had to wake up at 5am, but it was worth it. So cool to see the balloons air up, up close. I tried to get a good picture of Aid, but he kept moving at the last second. Today is Father's Day, we're letting Derek sleep in while we clean. Happy Father's Day!

Our little King Kong has scaled the toy building. Her only complaint, "Waaahhh, I'm stuck!" She's so cute, she tries to climb anything in her reach. Which answers the question, can a child who doesn't live in a house with stairs ever learn to climb them? Yes, they most certainly can. They just climb other things as practice.

Remember these?

This is a PB&J made with rice cakes. It takes me back to my childhood. Growing up in a large family with one income, you have to make the money streeeeeeetch. Sometimes in the morning when my sibs and I would pack our lunches bread (a precious commodity at the time) would be non-existent. The challenge was to find a bread substitute or be stuck with ramen (again). Enter rice cakes. No not the fancy ones like caramel, or cinnamon apple, just the plain flavor ones. Curiosity made me try them again, and you know what they're still pretty good. One thing I don't get is why they raised the price on rice cakes. I know my mom bought them a lot because they were cheap, but I paid $1.78 per package and that was the sale price. Hmmmm. Whatever, try a RiceCakePB&J.
